Mauna Kea Luau
At Mauna Kea Beach Hotel, our lū‘au is more than a feast—it’s a celebration rooted in Hawai‘i’s history, legends, and culture. Set against the glow of a Kohala Coast sunset, it’s an evening of storytelling through music, food, and dance, a tradition that’s been ongoing since 1965. Hawaiian steel guitars and the sound of surf set the stage. Tables are piled high with kālua pig, island fish, lomi lomi salmon, sashimi, and mountains of pineapple and papaya. It’s an evening of sheer delight, teaching your keiki the joy of finger-licking poi, dancing hula to the “hukilau,” and being moved by the thrill of a powerful fire dance. It’s an experience shared by guests from around the world that invites you not just to watch, but to feel the island’s singular spirit.
