Complimentary Canoe Paddle
Discover the magic of the Kohala Coast guided by our skilled Mauna Kea Watermen. Embark on a journey to explore secret coves, immersing yourself in the rich traditions of the wa‘a (canoe) culture.
Paddle Times:
7:30AM - Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday
10:45AM - Everyday
- Complimentary canoe paddle bookings must be made in person only.
- Reservations can only be made one day in advance.
- Guests are limited to one paddle session per stay.
- A signed wavier is required before paddling.

Ocean Safety
Enjoy Kauna’oa Bay, but be mindful of ocean conditions. Check flags and signs at beach entrances for safety information. Always enter the water only when Beach Attendants are on duty. While not lifeguards, they can answer questions about ocean conditions and warnings. Attendants are easily recognized by their YELLOW and RED uniforms.
Please read the signs and observe the flags each day. In the event you do not see any warnings, contact a Beach Attendant to confirm water conditions.
